Business Administration - Actuarial Science Concentration Requirements
Actuarial Science combines elements of Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, and Programming. Students will understand qualitatively and quantitatively the application of a wide variety of interest algorithms to diverse financial investments. Learning outcomes for the concentration will include:

The student will demonstrate advanced critical thinking, problem-solving, and programming skills in order to solve open-ended data-based problems.

The student will be able to apply advanced statistical tools in R in order to build robust and scalable risk models.

The student will possess robust qualitative and quantitative skills in the use of probability concepts and techniques.
The business administration major with a concentration in actuarial science requires the 43-semester hour business core, 12 semester hours of supplemental courses, and the completion of 18 semester hours shown below. Some courses in this concentration may be offered through the LCMC/Rize platform.
