Musical Theatre (B.F.A.)
BFA in Musical Theatre - Application & Scholarship Audition Requirements, Review
Students interested in pursuing the BFA in Musical Theatre must audition for admission to the program; the same audition will be used to determine eligibility for talent-based scholarships:

Acting: One 60 second monologue from memory.

Singing: Two 32-bar excerpts from musical theatre songs (one ballad, one uptempo,
ideally in different musical styles).

Dance: (optional) If you dance, and it is among your primary performance strengths,
please include30 second solo that shows your skill level in any of several areas of dance: jazz, tap, hip-hop, modern and/or ballet.

Please also bring your audition book with other materials (headshot/resume), if you have them.
All students will undergo a sophomore review process and must maintain a 3.0 GPA in musical theatre major courses to remain in the program. Students have two chances to pass the sophomore review. Students who do not pass the sophomore review may choose to switch to another major within the theatre, music, or dance programs.
