POL 341 The Politics of Work

This survey course examines the politics behind work and employment practices. Students explore how political ideologies, economic systems, and social issues shape the workplaces of today. The topics studied include wage policy, worker safety, employment discrimination, healthcare, retirement benefits, mental and physical wellness, and job security. The course also addresses the politics of modern employment challenges such as gig work, automation, and AI in workplaces. Through case studies. interactive discussions, and activities students will connect political +processes and outcomes to organizational practices in the United States.
