ENG 410 Genre Studies
The form of a literary work shapes what an author says and how she says it. As a result, authors experiment within forms to discover their, possibilities as well as their limits. Students will explore the development and features of a single genre through the examination of specific examples of that genre. The course may either investigate the development of the genre across time or attend to the specific uses of the genre in a single cultural moment. Although these, courses may include some texts in translation, their primary content will be drawn from English, language texts. Course may be repeated for credit.
Prerequisite
Completion of ENG 260 or by permission of the instructor.
