ENG 372 Creative Nonfiction

The course critically examines published creative nonfiction, as well as student writings, in order to gain deeper understanding of the genre of creative nonfiction. Students will translate their personal experience and research into effective pieces of creative nonfiction (memoir, personal essay, personal/literary journalism).  In addition, students will examine ethical considerations involved when writing from "real" life. Students should be prepared to have their work critiqued in open discussion by the class, as well as in private session with the instructor.
