ENG 236 Love, Friendship & Family

Our idea of what constitutes "family" is constantly changing, but how we feel about family seems to be as complex as ever. Who are our "loved ones," and how do they both trouble and comfort us? This class considers how authors and artists have addressed the ideas of, love and friendship, courtship and marriage, as well as family and estrangement.
