COM 296 Media & Society

This course equips students with essential media literacy and critical thinking skills necessary to be informed and effective social actors in today’s digital world. Students will explore the pivotal economic, political, and cultural influence of media in shaping societies and individual identities. They will gain foundational tools to critically analyze the construction, dissemination, and consumption of media messages within specific cultural contexts. Additionally, students will learn to identify how media shapes their perceptions, fostering a deeper awareness of the media's role in influencing their worldview.
