BIO 491 Biology Seminar III

This course is designed as an advanced instruction in the preparation of formal scientific papers and presentations. Students will prepare a research paper or mini-review that covers a topic relevant to their research or internship experience. This document should incorporate a command of the basic biological principles that are pertinent to that project. Students will also be exposed to the peer-review process, to contribute to in-class participation, and to reinforce critical analysis skill. In addition, students will be assisted in preparing their final presentations which will highlight their experiences, the objectives of their projects, and the scientific sources and elements used in the development of the written documents. Prerequisites: BIO 391 and senior standing; or permission of the instructor.

Completion of BIO 110 and BIO 111, or BIO 101 and BIO 102; BIO 391, and senior standing; or permission of the instructor.
