NUTR 320 Food Economics

Food Economics is not just about numbers—it is about people. Inequities within the global food system often reflect broader social and economic disparities. This course examines how food systems function at local, national, and global levels, with a focus on food safety, procurement, production, and economic decision-making. Students will learn practical calculations related to food costs, waste, and yield, explore strategies to prevent food-borne illness, and analyze how food systems can influence health outcomes and community well-being.
