SOC 351 The Sociology of Law

An introduction to the sociological study of law emphasizing the insights of Marx, Weber, and Durkheim illustrating how law and legal decision making are influenced by social, cultural, and economic factors. Comparisons between legal institutions in the United States and other countries are made. Prerequisite: CRIM 200 or SOC 101.
