NUR 529 Pathophysiology and Pharmacology III
This is the final course of the pathophysiology and pharmacology sequence. The focus remains on increasing competency in the correlation between pathophysiology of selected disease states and their respective pharmacological interventions. Students will be able to identify basic pathologic conditions and correlate them to therapeutic interventions, discuss pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and the influence of individual physiology of medication distribution in the body and understand the body’s ability to adapt and compensate for pathologic changes. Clinical judgement and application of pharmacologic skills will be evaluated using case studies, active learning strategies, skill demonstration, quizzing, virtual and face to face simulation and dosage calculation strategies sufficient to meet a 3 credit rigor for the course.
