Course Load

All students must be enrolled in a minimum full-time course load during the traditional academic year in order to be eligible for financial aid, on-campus housing, athletic participation, and (in some cases) medical insurance coverage.

For day students, the minimum full-time course load is 12 hours per semester; however, the typical course load is 15 hours per semester.

For fully online students, the full-time course load is 6 hours in each eight-week term and 11 hours in the summer twelve-week term.

Academic Overload

Students who wish to take more than 9 hours in an eight-week term, more than 11 hours in a summer twelve-week term, or more than 18 hours combined in a given semester, must receive permission to do so. These students need to complete and submit the Application for Academic Overload. Advisor approval is required.
Advisors should consider: GPA, class level, and impact on timeliness of degree completion.
