EDU 310 Content Area Literacy for the Secondary Teacher
Presents reading and writing instructional strategies to increase and enhance student learning across disciplines. Applies the foundational knowledge of literacy and emphasizes instructional approaches that develop academic vocabulary and enhance comprehension. Critically examines educational practices, learning environments, and curriculum materials which embrace diversity. Completion of field experience hours in a public-school classroom where candidates assess, plan, instruct, and reflect on best practice is a required component.
