CSD 100 Introduction to Communication Sciences and Disorders
This introductory course provides an overview of the field of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) for students interested in speech-language pathology, audiology, nursing, education, psychology, social work, and other health and helping professions. Content includes the anatomy and physiology of speech, language, and hearing; typical communication development across the lifespan; and an introduction to speech, language, hearing, voice, fluency, swallowing, and cognitive-communication disorders. The course also introduces students to professional roles, work settings, and interprofessional collaboration in the field.
